Our Veneers Process

The making of a smile.

At The Dental Room, we focus on providing a professional, carefully considered approach to smile care. Our team combines clinical expertise with in-house ceramic lab support to ensure treatments are planned and delivered with precision. Every stage of your visit is designed with attention to detail, from consultation through to completion, so your treatment is tailored to your individual needs.

Your smile journey starts here at the first consultation. Dr Shawn and our in-house ceramist Ms Chloe Park will meet with you to discuss your dental concerns, examine your smile, and outline suitable treatment options. We will also provide information about the risks and benefits of each option, along with an estimate of treatment costs.

3 | Veneer preparation with trial smile

Dr Shawn will prepare the teeth by shaping them slightly before taking moulds, after which temporary veneers are fitted. These provisional veneers, sometimes referred to as a trial smile, allow clients to experience the look and feel of veneers before the final version is made. Local anaesthetic is typically used during this stage to help minimise discomfort.

4 | Ceramist consultation

We encourage all our clients to return two days later to provide feedback on the look of their temporary veneers. At this point, adjustments to aspects such as shape or length can be made as required. A copy of the adjusted temporaries is then taken, which our ceramist, Ms Chloe Park, uses as a reference when creating the final veneers.

5 | Veneer bonding

This stage is typically a half-day appointment. The temporary veneers are removed and the porcelain veneers are checked for fit. Clients will have the opportunity to review them at this stage, and adjustments to factors such as fit, shape, translucency, or colour can be made with the support of our in-house ceramist. Once confirmed, the veneers are permanently bonded. Local anaesthetic is usually administered during this procedure to help minimise discomfort.

6 | Review

review appointment is usually scheduled one to two weeks after veneers are fitted. At this visit, Dr Shawn may make minor adjustments if required. A nocturnal splint (nightguard) is also provided to help protect the veneers during sleep.

7 | 6-month follow up appointment

With appropriate care and maintenance, veneers may last for many years. Regular dental check-ups and professional cleans every six months are recommended to support the health of your teeth and any restorations.
