As you are probably aware, Dr Shawn has a unique style and approach to aesthetic dentistry. Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are a thin ceramic shell that covers your existing tooth structure. They form the essence of today’s state-of-the-art dentistry at The Dental Room. All porcelain veneers are handcrafted using proprietary methods by Dr Shawn’s personal in-house ceramist Ms Chloe Park.
Dental Crowns
Made from porcelain in our on-site ceramics lab, crowns are used to cover and protect a tooth to prevent further damage.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are a way of replacing either a singular tooth, or multiple missing teeth. Using state-of-the-art technology, we offer treatments such as 3D scanning radiology, implant treatment and crown replacement. We also have everything we need to perform dental implant treatment at The Dental Room, including radiology and a ceramic laboratory.
Invisalign
Invisalign® is a discreet, revolutionary type of clear braces. If you want to straighten your teeth without the use of traditional metal braces, Invisalign® can offer a more aesthetically pleasing solution. Our dentists are accredited Invisalign® practitioners and The Dental Room has been awarded the Invisalign® Platinum Status in 2019. In other words: you’re in safe hands!
Teeth Whitening
If you want a brighter smile, professional-strength Philips Zoom Teeth Whitening at The Dental Room can make a dramatic improvement in the shade of your teeth. What are porcelain veneers?
Dental veneers are made of porcelain 0.2mm to 0.5mm thick that are meticulously bonded onto individual teeth. You can have veneers fitted on some or all of your teeth. The Dental Room, together with their in house ceramics lab provide customised veneers designed to support a natural appearance. Porcelain veneers are designed to blend in with the surrounding teeth for a discreet result.
Can I whiten or straighten my teeth along with veneers?
Professional teeth whitening treatment may be considered before veneers are placed. We advise getting teeth whitened first so the veneers can be designed to match your new, brighter shade. Are dental veneers permanent?
Although porcelain veneers are strong and durable, they are not permanent. How long porcelain veneers last depends on the quality of the application and on how well you look after them. On average, they last about 10 years, and with proper care they may last 15 or even 20 years.
However, porcelain veneers can be susceptible to damage. They can sometimes break or come loose from the tooth, meaning they may need to be reapplied or replaced sooner.
How do I care for my porcelain veneers?
To maximise the lifespan of your veneers, it is essential to see your dentist regularly, follow daily hygiene practices and have regular check-ups – though that’s also good advice for those that don’t have veneers!
Even when your veneers look great, there can be damage underneath you can’t see. A tooth can decay and get worse over time, leaving it unable to support a new veneer. Seeing your dentist regularly regularly for a thorough check-up will help you avoid this.
Developing good habits in your everyday life will help determine how long veneers last. If you are dedicated to extending the life of your veneers, good tooth and gum care is critical. Avoid eating hard foods and definitely don’t bite your nails. Look after your porcelain veneers to help them last longer.

Do you need to see an orthodontist for Invisalign®?
No, Invisalign® treatment is not exclusively provided by orthodontists. It’s important to note that both orthodontists and dentists must undertake the same specific training provided by Invisalign to become an accredited provider.
The outcomes and efficiency of the treatment can vary depending on the provider’s treatment planning and on how well the aligners are worn and managed. Before deciding, it’s best to do your research and find an accredited Invisalign® provider with experience in this treatment. During your consultation, you can also ask questions about their experience with Invisalign® treatment.

We are not able to provide you with a set time as it will depend on your specific needs. An approximate treatment time can be provided to you after your initial appointment with us. Thanks to recent advancements in Invisalign® technology, many clients are now able to change their aligners every 7 days instead of 14, which can significantly reduce treatment time. Careful planning from the very beginning ensures your treatment is as efficient as possible, helping you achieve your desired results sooner.
Is Invisalign® treatment painful?
The technology that drives the treatment and the way we formulate your tooth movements ensures that there will only be gradual and gentle yet effective teeth movement throughout your treatment. Most clients tell us they feel a mild discomfort on the first 2 days of wearing a new aligner.
